Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress who is best recognized for her roles in films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She graduated with an B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actress and producer. She is active in films theater and on television. She started acting on stage and went onto appear in mainstream, independent as well as television shows. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with high praise but also numerous awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995 she appeared in her first performance on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. She's appeared as a character on Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is highlighted by her roles in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. In the world of television, her character in the ABC's crime drama High Incident is well known.
